Our school is launching a new STEM Club designed to give students hands on opportunities to explore drones, robotics, computer networking, and emerging technologies. The club will provide students with experiences that extend beyond the traditional classroom and allow them to design, build, program, troubleshoot, collaborate, and solve real world problems.
Our students are preparing for a future in which technology skills will be essential across nearly every career field. Through the STEM Club, students will explore areas such as robotics and automation, drone technology, engineering, computer networking, and information technology. Most importantly, students will have opportunities to learn by doing, developing technical skills while strengthening creativity, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and perseverance.
Funds raised through this campaign will be used to purchase equipment and materials needed to launch and expand the club, including educational drones, robotics kits and components, networking equipment, tools, replacement parts, and other STEM learning materials. These resources will allow students to move from learning concepts to applying them through authentic projects and challenges.
Reaching our $3,000 fundraising goal, combined with the GECU Foundation's $3,000 match, would provide a $6,000 investment in creating meaningful STEM opportunities for our students. The equipment purchased through this initiative will be reusable, allowing the impact of the campaign to extend beyond this school year and benefit future students as the program grows.
Our goal is to create a space where students can discover new interests, develop practical technology skills, and begin seeing themselves as future engineers, programmers, technicians, cybersecurity professionals, and technology leaders. With the support of our community and the GECU Foundation, we can turn students' curiosity about technology into experiences that may help shape their college and career pathways.
